Ministry of Tourism

Om Travels is recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

That recognition is not a badge a business can put up on its own say-so. A tour operator or transport provider seeking it is assessed against published criteria covering how long the business has actually been operating, the adequacy of its office and infrastructure, its financial standing, and adherence to a code of fair trade practice governing how a customer is quoted, treated and refunded. It exists precisely so that a customer, or a corporate travel desk deciding who to book, does not have to take an operator's own marketing at face value.

For someone booking a car for her own family, this is one more fact to weigh alongside the ratings further down this page. For a corporate travel desk building an approved vendor list, or an event planner filling in an empanelment form, it is very often the specific line the form asks for: a fact a company can cite to its own compliance team when it puts us on the list of transport vendors it is allowed to book.

GST registration

We are a proprietorship and are registered under GST. Every fare is charged at 5%, without input tax credit, and a GST invoice is issued for every booking, carrying the applicable SAC code: 9964 for a contract-carriage transfer, 9966 for a vehicle rented with an operator by the day or the trip.

For a customer booking for herself, this means the fare she is quoted is the fare she pays: nothing is added afterwards that was not already in the number she agreed to, and every trip closes with a proper GST invoice rather than a hand-written slip. For a company booking us for staff, for clients, or for an event, it means two things worth knowing before a purchase order is raised. The rate we charge is fixed rather than elected service by service, so there is no higher, credit-bearing rate to ask for instead. And because our rate is charged without input tax credit, a body corporate booking us directly cannot set the GST on our invoice off against its own output tax, which its finance team will usually want to know ahead of contracting rather than after the trip has already been billed.

Which SAC code applies to a given booking, how reverse charge works where the client booking us is itself a body corporate, exactly what our invoice is required to show, and how a government fee or a toll is billed as a disbursement rather than folded into our own charge, are all set out in full at /legal/gst-and-invoicing. This page states what we are registered as and what we charge; that page is the working policy your accounts team can cite.

MSME registration

Om Travels is registered with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Registering under the MSMED Act 2006, through the government's own Udyam portal, is a formal step taken with the government and checked against turnover and investment criteria, rather than a label a business simply gives itself. It puts a business on a government register as a defined micro, small or medium enterprise. For a customer, it is a plain signal that this is a registered, accountable business rather than an informal operator working off a mobile number and nothing else.

For a company that books us, it carries a specific and useful consequence beyond the signal. Under the MSMED Act, a buyer sourcing from a registered micro or small enterprise is required to settle that supplier's invoice within forty five days of accepting the goods or service, and interest accrues automatically if it does not. It is worth telling your own accounts payable team that a vendor is MSME registered, because that forty five day clock is a legal obligation on the buyer, not a courtesy the seller is asking for.

Transport permit

Our outstation vehicles run on an all India tourist permit, which is what lets a trip cross a state border, from Delhi into Himachal, Uttarakhand or Rajasthan, without a separate pass arranged on the day.

Before the composite fee scheme that permit runs on existed, a vehicle crossing into another state had two options, and neither one was good for the passenger in the back seat. It could carry a separate permit for every state it might ever enter, expensive to keep current and useless the moment the trip goes somewhere that was not on the list. Or it could travel without one and stop at each border to negotiate a tax in cash before being waved through, with the trip sitting at the barrier for however long that argument took. An All India Tourist Permit replaces both with a single instrument, valid everywhere, paid for once rather than negotiated at every crossing, which is why a trip out of Delhi into the hills does not lose an hour at a state line.

The fuller mechanics, how that composite fee differs from a genuine state entry tax that can still appear as its own line on your quotation, and exactly how to tell a real government charge from one invented on the road, are set out at /legal/permits-tolls-and-taxes.

Ratings you can check yourself

A rating on Google or on Justdial is written by a stranger, attached to her own account and timestamped on the platform she wrote it on. That is why both are shown here as a live listing rather than a screenshot or a figure typed in: you can open either one and read the whole of it for yourself.

Both of these are our own listings, read off the live page rather than a search result. Search "Om Travels Panipat" on either platform and you will find the same one.
